Chicago to Orlando!! PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 20 January 2010 20:16

The American Idol Audition Express rolled into Chicago last night and I must say... for the first time this season I was really disappointed with the talent level.  There were of course the usual bizarre and cooky auditions and then a down right creepy audition where one guy did his best Tiny Tim impression; but there just wasn't a huge amount of talent in Chicago and it directly reflected in the number of golden tickets handed out.  So far Chicago has produced the lowest number of hopefuls headed to Hollywood in the 3 stops American Idol Season 9 has made so far.

Tonight the auditions continue in Orlando and although I am only one audition into the show so far..... It looks like Orlando might be following in Chi-Town's footsteps!!

TO BE CONTINUED........

A Perfect Bison Weekend!!! PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 17 January 2010 12:26

The Bison and Lady Bison basketball teams both had strong showings this weekend in compiling a perfect 3 - 0 record.  The Lady Bison made the long trek south down to Rawlins on Friday evening and as usual they coupled an impressive defensive effort with a balanced offensive attack en route to a 44 - 19 victory over the home Lady Outlaws.  The win now moves the Lady Bison to 7 - 3 (4 - 0) on the season while the outlaws have lost 33 straight games dating back to last season.

On the boys side of things, the Bison looked to rebound from a 1 - 1 weekend last week that saw them lose the #1 ranking int the state for the first time this season.  On Friday night the boys didn't play their best game but they did just enough to squeak by Rawlins 55 -54.  Kasey Esponda had 30 points giving him back to back games of at least 30 points.  On Saturday the Bison got another dose of home cooking as the new #1 team in the state, the Torrington Trailblazers, came to town fresh off a 91 - 60 destruction of Thermopolis the night before.  The Bison came out of the gate aggressive, focused and intense and they turned that into a 57 - 54 victory over the Trailblazers.  The win now moves the Bison to 7 - 3 (4 - 1) on the season and back into a tie for the top spot in the 3A East.

Both teams return to action next Friday night and will look to continue their winning ways!!!  Make sure to catch all next week's Bison and Lady Bison hoops action on 1450am KBBS and live online at www.network1sports.com.

IDOL Returns!! PDF Print E-mail

After what seemed like forever... and it always does... American Idol is back as Season 9 auditions kicked off in Boston last night and Atlanta this evening.  There were lots of great hopefuls to come through the auditions and some amazing stories... Cancer survivors, a 16 year old girl who is one of 12 siblings and even a girl who barely had 4 dollars to buy a new dress for her audition.  I think however the person I will remember most from the first two stops along the Season 9 Idol audition tour will be General Larry Platt who sang his original song "Pants on the Ground".  The 62-year old General could be this year's William Hung.... HA HA HA!!  Only time will tell!!

Bison Defeat Warriors... Move to 1 - 0!! PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 07 September 2009 13:30

Congrats to the Buffalo Bison, who moved to 1 - 0 on this young campaign with a 20 - 0 victory over the Worland Warriors Friday evening.  The Bison got out of the gate very fast scoring on their first 3 possessions to surge ahead 20 - 0 at the end of the 1st quarter.  The Bison dominated the football game from start to finish and had it not been for 3 TD's called back due to penalty, the Bison would have won in a route.  The Bison will have a short week due to the holiday to prepare for their home opener, this Friday night when Lander comes to town.  It won't get any easier for the Bison as Lander is coming of a huge victory as they won their Week 1 contest against Rawlins by more than 40 points.

Make sure to get out and support our boys this Friday night at 7:00 pm!!!

J.G. Spooner Bio

I was born and raised in Fairview Park, Ohio, which is located just minutes outside of Cleveland.  A two-time college graduate, most recently of the Ohio Center for Broadcasting, I married the love of my life, Jessica, in September of 2008.  I left ESPN radio in Cleveland, where I worked as a producer / beat reporter, for the position here in beautiful Wyoming as the host of “The Really Big Show” airing weekday mornings from 6-10 on Kix 92.9FM.

It has been quite the adjustment moving here from Ohio for my wife, my 2 dogs (Emma Lou and Sabra Sue) and I.  All the people I have met here in Wyoming have been incredibly friendly and helpful which has made the move across country so much easier.  “The Really Big Show” is a listener friendly morning show that feeds off your requests, suggestions, interaction and participation.

When I am not in the studio I love watching sports; my heart belongs to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Browns, Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Along with watching sports, I love getting outdoors and playing golf or heading to the gym to play basketball.  I look forward to exploring this new region of the country whenever I get a chance (feel free to send me suggestions).
